CWC Calls for phase-out of biosolids dumping
Somehow, without our really realizing it, Indian River County became the human waste dumping grounds for southeastern Florida. 73% of Florida’s waste is going to a handful of counties that have not managed to have it banned.
This is NOT what we want to be known for.
The Clean Water Coalition of Indian River County (CWC) calls on state agencies to phase out and eventually ban the practice of dumping biosolids.
Instead of dumping nutrient-rich biosolids into our watersheds, let’s support new technologies that recycle biosolids into more valuable industrial commodities.
